Abstract

Under this research title which has been conducted regarding Pashto- Russian and Russian-Pashto dictionary from (1330 A.H.) to (1350 A.H.) in Kabul Magazine, thematic research of the written articles has been done. The first article in this study is about the Pashto-Russian dictionary written by (Ma Ka Rahmani). In this article, the writer has written” Pashto-Russian dictionary has written Mr. Zodin which consisted of (12000) words. In a part of this article, the translation of Pashto language poems and tales are also discussed. The second article was written by Motamed Shinwari regarding the Russian- Pashto dictionary. He says that the Russian Pashto dictionary is the second dictionary written by Mr. Zodin and published in Russia. This dictionary has twenty-one thousand (21000) words which are found in (1174) pages. The author writes in this article: The Pashto language has been served a lot by the Soviets in Russia. In the year (1345), the Russian Pashto Professor Mr.Aslanov (Pashto-Russian dictionary) wrote that it had about 80,000 words. It was the largest dictionary in Russia at that time. The Pashto language all words compositions and dial ectal differences were translated in Russian language. In the last article, Mr. (Ergy Bachka) has a critical review of Aslanov (Pashto-Russian dictionary), in which all the defects of (Pashto-Russian dictionary) have been pointed out. The author writes that Aslanov's service to the Pashto language in the early days is valuable, but at the same time, the change of phonemes between words is his biggest weakness.
