A study of linguistics

Abstract

The scientific study of language is called linguistics. The question is whether linguistics is a science or an art, the answer is both because linguistics is related to literature and social sciences, but phonetics is a branch of linguistics and is actually based on science. Linguistics has two main branches, micro-linguistics and macro-linguistics, micro-linguistics is the study of a language on a limited level and macro-linguistics is the study of a language on a large scale. There have been different thoughts in the field of linguistics at different times, that is why this research paper has discussed about linguistics, the question of whether it is a science or an art, as well as the branches of linguistics and different schools of linguistics.
