Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of resistance (Mazahamat) in the poetry of Darwesh Durrani, a significant contemporary Pashto poet ۔ It explores how his poetry functions as a structured intellectual response to political oppression, social injustice, economic exploitation, and cultural distortion ۔ The research argues that Durrani’s poetry goes beyond emotional expression and develops a conscious discourse aimed at awareness, unity, and ideological resistance ۔ Through selected textual analysis, the study highlights how his poetic voice encourages intellectual struggle, critical thinking, and collective consciousness among the Pashtun society ۔ The paper concludes that Durrani’s poetry represents a strong tradition of resistance literature in modern Pashto poetry ۔
