Abstract

Guldasta is a Pashto translation of Sheikh Saad’s well-known Persian book “Gulistan”. It has been rendered into Pashto by Abdul Qadar Khan Khattak-Khoshal khan Khattak’s son-in 1124. It was published for the first time by Pashto Academy Peshawar. Guldasta is a collection of short tales and fables –short didactic stories. Abdul Qadar Khan Khattak has translated the prose portion of “Guldasta” into Pashto prose and the poetical pieces into Pashto verse. It’s a didactic book containing ethical and moral lessons for children.
